Learn about Jewelry Repairs
For more than 35 years, families across Aurora and the Denver metro have trusted Biondi Diamond Jewelers to care for the pieces they treasure most. Our on site certified master jeweler handles everything from a delicate prong retip to a full heirloom rebuild, all completed right here in our Aurora workshop.
For your peace of mind, any time a diamond over half a carat is left for repair, we show it to you under a microscope and hand plot its inclusions and unique identifiers. When you return to collect your piece, we show you the diamond again under the microscope, so you can be certain the stone that comes home is the very same one you brought in.
Prong repair and retipping.
Prongs are designed to cradle a stone without crushing it, cushioning the edges against chips and knocks, but they do not last forever. Daily wear slowly thins them, and a stone in a worn setting can be lost in a moment. If your ring catches on fabric, it is often a sign the prongs need attention. Bring your jewelry in every six months for a complimentary cleaning and inspection, and we will let you know when it is time to retip or rebuild.
Ring resizing.
Whether you need to move up a size or down, resizing means you never have to go long without your favorite ring. At Biondi Diamond Jewelers, our on site master jeweler resizes almost any ring and returns it to you quickly.
Not every resizing method is equal. To size a ring up, we typically cut the band and add a piece of matching gold rather than stretching and thinning the existing metal, which can leave a band weak enough to crack. It is a stronger, longer lasting approach, and on most rings the change is invisible to the eye.
Purchase your ring from Biondi and have your finger measured in store, and your first adjustment within 30 days is complimentary. We are always happy to resize rings bought elsewhere as well, though certain metals and designs cannot be resized. We will tell you what is possible when you bring your piece in.
Jewelry restoration.
Bring us antiques, heirlooms, and estate pieces to repair or reimagine, with careful attention to the history and integrity of the original design.
Like most repairs, restoration often involves gemstone polishing, prong and tip work, and resizing, yet it goes further, honoring period specific details and conserving the original integrity of the design. The result is a piece you can wear again and pass down for another generation.
